The OpsGenie alternative that feels familiar from day one

Spike is a standalone incident management software, like OpsGenie. Your schedules, escalation policies and routing rules work the same way, so your team is on-call in Spike right away.

Teams moving from OpsGenie get 20% off their first year on an annual plan.

Atlassian stopped selling OpsGenie on June 4, 2025. Support ends on April 5, 2027, and any data you haven't moved by then is deleted.

JSM is a service desk. Your team needs incident management.

Jira Service Management is Atlassian's replacement for OpsGenie. It was built for support tickets, with on-call added later. Teams that need phone call alerts end up on Premium at $55.28 per agent. Spike was built for incidents and includes phone alerts and a status page in every plan.

Pay for on-call, not a service desk

Spike is $7 per user per month on Standard and $14 on Business. Status pages, Slack, Teams and AI come with both plans. No add-ons and no hidden costs.

Standard

$7 per user / month

One on-call rotation and 100 phone and SMS alerts a month for the team.

Business

$14 per user / month

Unlimited rotations and phone and SMS alerts, plus Jira and live chat support.

Set it up yourself, or let us do it for you

Spike works out of the box, so you can recreate your OpsGenie setup on your own. If you'd rather hand it over, our team moves your schedules and escalation policies for you.

  1. Recreate your schedules and escalations

Build them in the dashboard or as code with Terraform. You can also send us your OpsGenie setup and we recreate it.

  2. Point your tools at Spike

Spike connects to 80+ tools, each with a webhook URL. We build any other integration you need within 72 hours.

  3. Run both until you're sure

OpsGenie keeps running while Spike receives the same alerts. You switch over once everything lines up.

No retraining. Spike works the way OpsGenie does.

Spike is built on the same ideas as OpsGenie: schedules, escalation policies and routing rules. Your team can run on-call in Spike on day one, the way it always has.

Spike opens a channel for each incident with Acknowledge, Resolve and Escalate buttons. You can ask @Spike who is on-call without leaving the thread.

Plus the AI that OpsGenie never had

Spike writes incident titles with AI and can run your own agents on every new incident. You can also ask Claude or ChatGPT about any incident through our MCP server.

AI writes the incident, so you can act on it

Spike reads the raw alert and writes a readable title in the voice you pick, then suggests severity and priority with a one-line why. The context OpsGenie made you dig for is already on the screen.

Build your own AI agents on Spike

Spike's MCP tools (get_incident, set_priority, acknowledge, escalate) are the building blocks for your own agents. Wire one to run on every incident.triggered and let it triage, tag and route before a human even looks. Nothing like it exists in OpsGenie.

See Spike + AI

Ask your incidents anything, over MCP

Connect Claude, ChatGPT or Perplexity to Spike and ask in plain English: what is critical right now, who is on-call next, what caused this. Build agents on the same tools. No OpsGenie equivalent exists.

Starts small. Scales when you do.

Add people, teams and rotations as you grow, on the same tool your team already knows.

“Spike has been a constant in our growth. As our team scaled, we never had to worry if our incident management could keep up.”

FAQs

Do phone and SMS alerts work in my country?

Spike sends phone and SMS alerts in over 100 regions. You can check yours on the full list before you switch. See supported regions

Is there a free plan?

Spike has a 14-day free trial with no credit card. After that, plans start at $7 per user per month. If you need more time to test, we can extend your trial.

Does Spike work with Jira?

Yes. Spike syncs incidents and Jira tickets both ways, so an update on one shows up on the other. Jira events can also open incidents in Spike.

Who is Spike not a good fit for?

Spike isn't the right fit if you need a help desk with tickets, assets and change management. Jira Service Management is built for that. Spike is also not a monitoring tool. It takes alerts from the monitoring you already use, like Datadog, Grafana or Prometheus, and gets them to the right person.

Is there a discount for teams leaving OpsGenie?

Yes. Teams moving from OpsGenie get 20% off their first year on an annual Spike plan. Offer terms
